Colin Crawley is a saxophonist, flautist, composer and arranger. He is featured in various radio, TV and commercial recordings (see discography).

Colin spent several years as music lecturer at Goldsmiths College, University of London and has performed and recorded with, amongst others, the BBC Radio Big Band, The High Llamas, Stereolab, Doves, The London Jazz Orchestra, EPJ, Forty Feet Forward, The Nigel Waddington Jazz Orchestra, Mick Collins Modern Jazz Orchestra, Hot Orange and The Medusa Saxophone Quartet. He has appeared at venues including Ronnie Scott’s, the 100 Club, 606 Club, the Barbican, Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall amongst many others, along with various groups under his own name.

As well as being a sax player, Colin is an active composer and arranger, having studied with Amit Sen, Frank Sikora and later with Edward Gregson. Colin has written for many different ensembles and for both radio and TV, and is the winner of the 1994-95 Musicians Union award for Most Outstanding Musician and the 1999 BBC Arranger’s award for an original composition as part of the BBC National Big Band competition. He is also an educator with more than 20 years’ experience including teaching/lecturing at, amongst others, University of London Goldsmiths College, Royal Academy of Music, City Lit and Morley College.
